gquest Posted July 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2005 Hello Islander, First off, I would like to thank you for taking the time to answer all of my questions. You have been most informative. Question: Do you have any recommendations on places to eat in St. Thomas and St. John? What are some traditional dishes in St. Thomas and St. John? How is the food at the beaches? Which beach has the best food? Thank you in advance for all of your help :D
The Islander Posted July 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2005 Hello, Places to eat on St. Thomas for local food; Gladys, Lillians Grill, Cuzzins (all three are downtown). Traditional Dishes: fish (fried, boiled), rice & beans, goat dishes, fungi (sidedish made of cornmeal - usually served with fish), pates, johnny cakes, kalaloo. Food at beaches is usually fast food; burgers, fries, hot dogs... you might find fried fish & pates at some (like Coki Beach or Brewers Bay - both on St. Thomas). Then you have resort beaches which mostly have sit down restaurants that have an assortment of foods on their menu. So are you looking for beach food shack or beach front restaurant? --Islander http://www.*****
