Lambface Posted February 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Hello! I've been on the Imagination ... wondering what the differences are between her and the Victory. Anybody? We are traveling with our 11 year old daughter ... she loves the slides and put-put golf. How's the Karaoke? Thanks!
PR0318 Posted February 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2014 just off the Victory this week, I liked her nice ship. It has been a long time since I was on the Imagination. Victory has one slide. The karaoke was not good, some bad singers. Really enjoyed the bands on the ship. probably take my kids on a Christmas time cruise on the Victory this year. Service was top notch. jayjay94 Posted February 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Could be a hit or miss. When I was on the Victory Aug 2013 the karaoke was really good and fun. Definitely great Staff & Service on the Victory. Will be cruising on the Victory again in May...

junglecat Posted February 7, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Just off the Victory in January. I've vacationed on the Valor and Liberty and this was hands down a huge disappointment compared to those two ships. Very dated in my opinion. For example, the tile and grout in our bathroom was not good. In fact some tiles would come completely up when wet each day. The grout was all cracked and yellowed. Our dressing table had several circles of metal eaten away. Possibly nail polish remover caps that had set on the ledge and ate the finish away. The carpet in the cabin was in need of being replaced as it was worn and stained. Several places throughout the ship needed some paint and the carpet was worn and in need of replacing. Now the service, the food and the entertainment was all excellent. Just a ship in need of updating which is supposed to happen in 2015, I believe. I would not, NOT go again if given the opportunity but it was just not what I had experienced in past sailings. I'm always up for a Carnival vacation! Lambface Posted February 7, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Thank so much for your reply. I have done the "newer" Carnival ships (Glory, Dream (twice), Legend), etc. But I wanted a quick (shorter) cruise and Victory and Imagination (both very "old") had the shorter itineraries. I live in Florida so I love quick get-aways when I can find a deal. I was just wondering about these two older ships and how they differed. No cruise line is perfect ... and Carnival represents an excellent value. I tend to use my cabin a lot so I always get a balcony ... and on Carnival they are so reasonable ....Thanks again for your reply.
gtalum Posted February 7, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Victory is larger and has much more to do. We did a back-to-back on victory last year, and found her to be a very well-run ship (but she is a bit worn). I'm sure Imagination will be fun too, but if I were to choose between the two I'd pick Victory. Edited February 7, 2014 by gtalum
