Rare niksmom630 Posted February 13, 2014 Author #107 Share Posted February 13, 2014 Welcome to Day 4! Had another fabulous dinner in the MDR last night. The menu was Pimiento. Had the pork tenderloin and scalloped potato dish, which was perfectly cooked. DBIL decided to try the strip steak despite my advise to avoid it. He was disappointed.... The flour less chocolate cake in the dessert sampler was the highlight of the three...
Rare niksmom630 Posted February 13, 2014 Author #108 Share Posted February 13, 2014 After making a rather large donation in the casino, we went to the schooner bar, then to the Dog and Badger Pub. I'm a bit disappointed in the music at these two venues. The Schooner Bar is very mellow, easy listening. After an enormous meal and several cocktails, I was ready to fall asleep. So, onto the Dog and Badger, which was not much better. I love these pub venues on most RCI ships. They get the crowd engaged, singing along, it's always a fun time. Thankfully, the Promenade is a great place to people watch, which kept me from nodding off again., and the parade was scheduled at 10:20, so we decided to stay since we had a front row seat already secured. The parade on the Promenade...
Rare countess5 Posted February 13, 2014 #109 Share Posted February 13, 2014 Well, I can finally get back onto CC! Here is my live report, one day later.... Don't see anything posted, somehow my post from yesterday is gone so I screwed up!:p I was asking since you have been on Allure and not to compare apples to apples, but how is INDY for entertainment/ you do what we do Jr Suite and beverage package, but we also like specialty dinning and a good show at night. Congrats on your winnings. Just came off Oasis on Feb 1st and found with the new smoking policy the Casino very smokey. How is yours? I believe you smoke so it may not be an issue for you. :) We are planning on booking INDY next January, been on AOS so same class but I believe INDY is bigger. Thanks! Enjoy the sun, Noreastern hitting us with 14 inches of snow today!!

Rare niksmom630 Posted February 13, 2014 Author #112 Share Posted February 13, 2014 Got there just in time to see Allure coming in...what a way to start the day, I'm not sure I will go on shore today. I am enjoying some time in the solarium right now. The swim up bar is calling my name...... Tonight we have dinner reservation in Chops, then reservations for the ice show. The dinner menu in the MDR this evening is Basil. Tomorrow (Labadee) will be our second formal night. There are loads of happenings tonight. I am hoping to avoid the Chops food coma, so I can get out to enjoy them. With so much going on this evening, I'm kind of wondering if anything will be planned tomorrow! Love and Marriage Show Battle of the Sexes Dancing under the stars pool deck party with a DJ, then Rock the Boat live music, and some "tasty street foods" are being served. I definitely want to check this out. Then, from 11:45 to 2:00 am there is an "adults only" Twenty by Absolut party with DJ Supreme. I can guarantee I won't make that event...... Rare niksmom630 Posted February 13, 2014 Author #115 Share Posted February 13, 2014 Finally live again at Day 5.... Well, this live report has been a bit of a challenge. Between the horrendously slow wifi, the CC server problems, maintenance issues, etc, photobucket crashes, I'm not able to post as many photos as I would like. I've already been to Guest Services, and had one wifi package refunded due to the abysmal performance. I'm fine with paying $.50 a minute, if I don't have to stare at a spinning icon for 4 out of 5 minutes! We had a superb meal at Chops last night, and then went to the ice show. I highly recommend seeing this performance. The show was called "Freeze Frame" and featured music from the 40's, 50"s, 60's, 70's & 80's. One of the best ice shows I have seen on any sailing. I have photos that I will likely post later. Today we have an over the water cabana booked. I intend to prioritize my next post with photos of our day in Labadee, and if I have any more minutes left, I'll backtrack with photos from yesterday. I will finish up with a recap upon my return, and post my remaining photos. For those of you still following along, thanks for hanging in there! You've been following the most disjointed live report in CC history! Here is the photo from the bridge that failed to make into my last post... Salat13 Posted February 13, 2014 #116 Share Posted February 13, 2014 I really enjoy you live report, will be on Indy in May. Is there a Starbucks on Indy? And if yes, could you send me a picture from the menu with the prices? You can post it after you return home, so you don't have to think about the slow wifi. Thanks and enjoy your cruise Andrea Gesendet von meinem iPhone mit Forums

smmountaingal Posted February 13, 2014 #118 Share Posted February 13, 2014 We stayed at the Hilton Marina last year and we will be staying there again this time. It is a really nice hotel and I love waking up and looking out the window to see all the ships! Hi, would like to know more about the Hilton Marina hotel. We are booked there on April 11 pre-Indy cruise and again on April 20th for one day post cruise. We have a tower room that overlooks the intracoastal. Are there other rooms that are not in a tower? We have requested an upgrade for early check in on Sunday the 20th but will not know until that morning if we can get it. Thanks.

We sailed Indy last week, and I believe that they had a Pets at Sea. It was listed in the Cruise Compass, but I can't recall where it was. Never heard of it before the cruise, but it's a cute idea for little ones!

Personally, I think the tower rooms that overlook the intracoastal are the best. Basically agree that tower rooms are the best. We actually had a top floor room with an amazing view of Port Everglades (including all the ships). Super view from up there.
