Favorite Carnival Ship-Least Favorite Carnival Ship

My first Carnival Love: MS Holiday!

My last Carnival Disappointment: CCL "Dream"

Makes me wonder if its more date related than ship related. 2007 Holiday had huge rooms and impeccable service. 2011 Triumph was disorienting but great ports and wonderful service. 2012 Conquest was ok, good sushi, slow service but mostly friendly and OK ports. 2013 Dream had lines everywhere, even self serve ice cream, poured my own drinks in dining rooms, had rude staff and unhappy guests but really fun entertainment staff. I enjoyed the glitz of the Dream but hate the you can't get there from here layout and the horrible narrow promenade and congested decks 4/5 thru casino and shopping just to get anywhere. I know they are all like that but this one is bigger and more crowded.

It's probably less the ship itself and more the way we were treated on board...

Favorite: Elation - We had a wonderful time on this ship twice and the small size made it seem a little more quaint.

Least favorite: Dream - This boat was too much. Too many lines, too many people, to "vegasy" Food was subpar compared to other cruises and the staff was unfriendly.

Interestingly enough, our waiter from the elation had been promoted and was a dining supervisor on the dream when we sailed. I mentioned to him that I wasn't a fan of the dream and he said he wasn't either. I guess the bigger boats somehow translate to more work for the same pay for some of the staff members.

My favorite is the next one I'm getting on and my least is the one I'm getting off at the moment

haha good answer! we can't compare enough yet! we're pretty low maintenance so I have a feeling we'll be happy on most ships!

My least favorite ship is the Conquest- only because it doesn't have a serenity deck :(

My favorite ship is the Fascination- not only did it have a serenity deck but everything about this ship was nice when I sailed on her ;)

My wish list ship- The Breeze! I can't wait to sail on her one day :p

Glad to see the fascination is your favorite. I am Sailing on her for my first cruise in a few weeks!

I do like the Conquest Class ships for their layout and my favorite is the Liberty. It has a nice decor.:)

My least favorite is Splendor. The overall feel of the ship was it is too crowded especially in the Lido pool area, the buffet area and the promenade. Sometimes you could not walk past the photographers. Also the casino area is way too smokey.:(

We have only been on two Carnival ships so I can't really say which is my favorite, but I will say my least favorite is the Pride. The decor was ok, I didn't find it offensive or troubling. But my DS was very disappointed in the pools on the ship.

Our other ship was the Ecstasy. After sailing on her and using the water slides there, the Pride seemed even more disappointing. In July we will be on the Sunshine. I have a feeling based on what I have been reading that she will be our favorite.

BTW my least favorite ship that we have been on was the NCL Dream. It is no longer in service. She was very small and was ready to be retired when we sailed on her.

  • 1 month later...

Favorite: Slight edge to the Liberty for the color-changing lights, 2nd would be the Dream.

Least: Fantasy, not a fan of smaller ships but I think I need to give it another chance :)

Honorable mention to the Miracle for the plexi-glass staircase...I was fascinated with them and took way too many pictures. Actually walked up them to the steak house.

What is your favorite Carnival ship and your least favorite Carnival ship? Feel free to explain why.

My favorite is Sunshine. Least favorite is Imagination.

Favorite is Spirit and Miracle, less is Inspiration--Mothball it!
