shop hours in Old San Juan

We will be arriving late Friday afternoon and would like to shop around Old San Juan either Friday evening or early Saturday morning before boarding the Jewel. Can anyone let me know what hours most of the shops are open Friday night and Saturday morning. Thanks

I have learned depending on the shops they stay open if there are ships in the Old San Juan Port. So some will close at 6pm and some open a little later but not much. Not sure what time they open, I figure 10-11Am??

 

Old San Juan looks beautiful either way, what are you looking to buy?

Last year we explored Old San Juan on our turnaround day. It was a Sunday and stores started opening around 10 and by 11 pretty much everything was open. I'd imagine Saturday would be the same or earlier - hopefully someone knows for sure! We ended up relaxing on benches near the El Convento hotel for a little while to pass the time while we waited, it was actually very nice :)

Most stores open within an 8am-5pm, 9am-6pm schedule. Yes, some stores stay open later than others and some modify their hours depending on the there are ships in port or not. Sunday hours are regulated by law and stores are usually 11am-5pm.
