Hi everyone, this is our first time with FO, 30 previous cruises - Princess, P&O, Holland America etc. so usually we have 'the knowledge'. It is 10 days with some late departures from port so can't work out how many formal nights there will be. Also heard they have deck barbecues and other dressing up nights - can anyone advise me. Hubby is taking is Formal suit and I wondered if the ladies wear long dresses?. Any advice re clothing would be very much appreciated.

Hi Denlar, As you can see we are going on Braemar next week for a similar cruise. I have my tickets and on them it states 2 formal nights and two theme nights - Tropical and British Night. We have been on Braemar twice, but not done Tropical before. I imagine it is Caribbean type shirts, but we shall probably not bother with that. British night is just wearing something red, something white and something blue. I usually wear white trousers or cut-offs with a red top and blue scarf.

You can usually buy stuff on the ship for these nights if you want to.

Formal night is similar to other ships, DJs or suits for men and long dresses or cocktail dresses for ladies. I always wear a long dress as it is the only time I get a chance to wear one ;) DH likes to wear his DJ, thinks he looks like James Bond :D

We have been on Princess too and think Fred is similar, but with smaller ships. I'm sure you will enjoy it. We are back on 28th Feb, so if you have any questions I will try to answer them.
