VermeulT Posted February 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2014 My cruise will be stopping in Victoria from 1p-11p the first Sat in Sept. I'm sure we will be exhausted from the 13 days prior, as will my wallet. What are some low cost/ low impact things to do? I am considering a trip to Butchart Gardens. Is there a "must do"? Thanks. I hate that he search tool isn't working. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Putterdude Posted February 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2014 Butchart Gardens are considered world class so if you enjoy gardens at all then they are a must do. With the time you have in Victoria you can take them in via CVS Cruise Victoria or by transit from just outside the cruise terminal, see the link below. Less expensive options include walking or taking the shuttle into downtown Victoria and taking in the Royal BC Museum or a walk thru the historical Empress Hotel followed by a walk on Government Street visiting the numerous unique shops. There are several self-guided walking tours that you may find interesting. Whatever you choose to do, please enjoy Victoria.:) http://www.butchartgardens.com/visit/location http://downtownvictoria.ca/getting-around/secrets-city
Northern Aurora Posted February 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2014 Each time we visit the Royal British Columbia Museum we are impressed, and we also love the Craigdarrock Castle (visit on your own and not on a ship sponsored shore excursion). Mike2131 Posted February 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2014 Each time we visit the Royal British Columbia Museum we are impressed, and we also love the Craigdarrock Castle (visit on your own and not on a ship sponsored shore excursion). I have visited Victoria 3 times and the 2 best experiences were the museum and a nature hike (really a walk) in a regional park near the city. If you just want a relaxing visit (with a little exercise), walk into town, visit the museum, eat some fresh seafood (there used to be a little seafood "shack" with a few picnic tables on the pier that was good), and back aboard.
