DCT61 Posted February 14, 2014 #103 Share Posted February 14, 2014 REALLY enjoying your review. We were in a CL suite on the OASIS in January. It was our favorite room and cruise BY FAR. I wish every ship had a CL type room. One question though. How did you raise and lower your tv upstairs? We NEVER figured out how to do it!!! It remained in the "down" position the entire time. (oh, we agree. The HILTON MARINA is a great hotel!)
sleepless Posted February 14, 2014 #104 Share Posted February 14, 2014 Review is great. Thanks for taking the time to do it. I will be on the Allure for a B2B beginning on June 29. Can't wait.
szdiver Posted February 14, 2014 #105 Share Posted February 14, 2014 enjoyed your review. Had a CL 1704 in 2012 on Oasis and it is a wonderful room. Wish other ships would have double floor rooms, but with access to each floor would be great.
TryingCruising Posted February 14, 2014 #106 Share Posted February 14, 2014 Thanks for your review! I'm excited to read more. We're taking off for our Allure cruise in just over 3 weeks. The steward got it to work for us, but then it got stuck up. :) we liked it better up so we just left it alone!

PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 15, 2014 Author #110 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Hello all! I hope everyone is having a lovely Valentine’s Day! Ready for the next day? Hopefully, it won’t be as long as the first day! J I got up at sunrise every morning to take pictures. You’re welcome. J Even when I was reasonably sure there was going to be no sun that day or the sunrise was on the other side of the ship. Unfortunately AND luckily, it was very warm weather our entire trip and our room was kept very cool, so I had a big problem with the lenses fogging up and I would have to wait until they un-fogged before getting any good pictures, and by that time, I may have missed some of the better pictures. It also made a lot of spots on my pictures that I didn’t realize until I uploaded them after the cruise. L This day started out cloudy with rain storms far off. I did not mind at all. It was beautiful. The resulting pictures do not do it justice.
PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 15, 2014 Author #111 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Vitality Spa – I had an 8 am appointment for a manicure and pedicure at the spa. I pre-ordered on line. I knew I would not have time or inclination to get this done before the cruise, so I figured, even though it was costly, I would then be sure to do it on the ship. I had never had a pedicure before in my life and only a few manicures, but I had a maxi dress that I was going to wear that I needed to wear sandals (I never wear sandals), so it was kind of necessary. Kimberlidh (don’t see how that is spelled right but that is what I have written down) was from Jamaica and was nice. She laughed at me because I had never had a pedicure before. I didn’t love it – I don’t like being touched – but I was glad I did it. The color I picked was neutral but very pretty and I got many compliments when I got home on the manicure. Tip was included in the prepaid amount, but I did tip her extra $20. Service was very good and it was a nice experience! It was very quiet and calming. Random pictures on the way to the spa: Viking Crown Lounge, our very convenient liquor store…
PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 15, 2014 Author #112 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Yes, it looks like a mall but it is a gorgeous mall in the middle of the ocean. I don’t think anything is wrong with that… [

PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 15, 2014 Author #116 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Slot Pull – Because of my spa appointment, I missed the Meet and Mingle, which was held at like 9:30 in the morning! Yikes! I knew Phil would not be up for that early in the morning so I was okay with having my appointment instead. Our slot pull was to follow the meet and mingle at 10 am in the casino. Phil and I and M&F went to wait in the casino. No one showed up so we just sat and had a soda and talked. We were about to leave when I noticed Mr. Fun in the Sun and Janey. I went over to them and found out that the slot pull had been pushed back until 11 am due to the C&A Captain’s talk. Darn, I forgot about that! I wanted to go to that because I heard the Captain was really funny! M&F bailed because they wanted to explore the ship. Phil and I stayed and had a very nice time. It was fun and funny! It had been set up by Bugsy and he did a great job! He and Janey had gotten some prizes from the casino manager. There were pretty many people participating. Everyone put in $15 and got 5 pulls. There was a lot of cheering and laughing. We ended up “winning” in total $14.60 each, so pretty much breaking even. Everyone donated the .60 cents to the Make a Wish Foundation and pretty many people donated all of their winnings so Bugsy and Janey ended up bringing a good bit of money to the Make a Wish! Lovely! Top winner got a little trophy. I came in like 3rd and got a t-shirt. Phil even got a key chain.
PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 15, 2014 Author #117 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Cabin Crawl – Our cabin crawl immediately followed the slot pull. Maryscooking arranged it and did a great job! Love to see the different cabins. Too cute – her cabin was the first one and she went the wrong way and we had to all turn around in the narrow hallway. I would so do that if it were me arranging it! There was a good number of people participating. The ship is BIG so there was a lot of walking, but Mary had it all arranged so it went very smoothly and in good order. Porthole forward cabin – awesome and unique shape and view… It was very roomy. It overlooked the helipad and they said at night they would have to keep the drapes closed because the light from the room would disturb the captain’s sights. PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 15, 2014 Author #118 Share Posted February 15, 2014 Boardwalk and Central Park balconies – Loved seeing this. I would never think I would like to have one because I would not like people looking up at me and I love the ocean view; however, it was a very exciting place to be and I loved it! PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 15, 2014 Author #120 Share Posted February 15, 2014 We showed our room last. People were very excited to see this. The locked hall door, the wide hallway, the doorbell, the unbelievable room and shower and balcony! A little girl said to me, “Is this just for the 2 of you??? You should make sure you pay back!!” LOL, we did just donate our winnings to Make a Wish... :o She didn’t want to leave, though. :) After everyone left, we were STARVING!! We hadn’t had anything to eat yet and it was after 1 pm. What? I’m on a cruise – I should not be hungry. We texted M&F and decided to go to Johnny Rockets. We really missed this last year on the Enchantment. I had a cheeseburger and cheese fries and apple pie a la mode. I think their apple pie is the best dessert on the ship. :) No pictures as I was too hungry!
PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 15, 2014 Author #121 Share Posted February 15, 2014 We went to explore the ship a bit. M&F had already been all over and were happy to go again. The reserved seating on deck for suites. It even had its own bar. It was quite beautiful! Very windy up there. I'll have more pictures of that section later. I just seem to have gotten most just looking down from there at this time. Oh now, I remember! There was a lady in a very skimpy suit that probably should not have been wearing that... We left quickly! Hot tub over the sea!
