PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 16, 2014 Author #201 Share Posted February 16, 2014 That is the Seabourn Sojourn. PhilNDebbieAtSea - It is a shame your helicopter flight was cancelled. I had the same issue when I was there in May last year and they didn't tell me until I was off the ship and had known since the day before. Luckily they got me on a later flight but it was the short one, not the long one I had booked. It is definitely worth it, you must go back and do it! Jo :) Definitely will! I looked for some private helicopter tours after they cancelled it, but I only found 1 company! It made me think, okay, if Royal's not up for it, I won't be either... I'm glad you got to go and it must have been awesome! I would have been so sad if I didn't find out until I got on the ship!! The short one looked great, but the long one looked amazing! PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 16, 2014 Author #202 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Thank you so much for an excellent review. I love your positive attitude. Your review is comprehensive and balanced. We will be on Lady O in a couple of weeks March 1 western. Your review makes me very happy. We are in the aquatheater suite and adjacent balcony. Trying to decide if we should get the iphones. Would you rent them again? Sounds like it was difficult to find someone to get them for you the first day. Is it best for us just to go straight away and ask the concierge? Thanks so much!! You will have a lovely cruise!! I know Phil and I would get them again. I'm not sure about M&F, I haven't asked them how they felt about it. It was funny, I thought because the ship was so big, we would need them to keep in touch with Phil, but there is so much to do on the ship and with the Viking Crown Lounge so close, he was with us more than usual. He didn't even go to the casino much. But now with the new smoking policy, we would definitely need... I think as long as you go into it realizing they won't work 100% all the time, they are good to have. The concierge doesn't really handle that. He was very helpful in finding out why there was a problem though. It did. really seemed like an aberration, since the equipment was all nicely set up in advance. Have a terrific cruise!!! PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 16, 2014 Author #206 Share Posted February 16, 2014 We are now into a routine. I went and got Phil some coffee. This time I went to the Boardwalk and got it from the Donut Shop. The other days, I had gone to the Promenade Café and there wasn’t really anything that I wanted there. At the donut shop, I got myself a pre-breakfast donut… OMG, they are so good for cruise ship donuts. Usually, I am not impressed. These were the best I ever had on a ship. I got original glazed and key lime. Yummy!!!! I ate them before I could get a picture. You will note, as promised, I am getting better by this point with getting the food porn. I can thank Maria for reminding me more often. That's what best friends are for...
PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 16, 2014 Author #207 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Later, before breakfast ended, we ordered room service breakfast – just because we could. Again, lovely service and warm, delicious food. Very impressed with this service. I did get pictures this time! Rolls much softer at breakfast (if you order pastries, they include a sourdough roll for some reason…) and lunch than they were at dinner. Phil said the dinner chef was cooking them too long. Ken Greco Posted February 16, 2014 #208 Share Posted February 16, 2014 We love the cold fruit based soups that are served in the MDR. Goes anyone know how to get a recipe for these soups so we can make them at home?
PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 16, 2014 Author #209 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Today, we explored the ship some more and lazed in our rooms and balconies. Read a little, looked at the beautiful ocean, and thanked God for the beauty he has given our world.

Esmerelda Posted February 16, 2014 #211 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Thanks for the camera information. Fogging tips: I have kept my camera in a zip-lock bag before and also sat it outside on the balcony about 5 minutes before I'm ready to go out and start snapping, that gives it time to acclimate. I'm so enjoying your review and photos! It's better than a novel. I don't understand how folks go on the Oasis class and not enjoy it? We all had a blast both times. :D
PhilNDebbieAtSea Posted February 16, 2014 Author #212 Share Posted February 16, 2014 For lunch, we went to Boardwalk Dogs. M&F had tried it earlier in the week and said it was so good. And it was! The hot dog buns are so fresh, something that is often lacking on the ships. I got a plain Coney Dog and Phil got the German Sausage Dog. Frank was disappointed that they didn’t have chili dogs (but they do at Johnny Rockets) but he loaded his up. Phil loved it and we were determined to come back here again. Go early in the cruise to see if you like it so that you will have time to go back again! For dessert, we got ice cream at the ice cream shop. I got 2 scoops of delicious caramel ice cream and Phil got a strawberry shake. There was a cute little girl in the shop who asked Phil where he was from and said she was from Chicago. Phil said, “Oh, I have been to Chicago.” She clarified that they lived outside of Chicago - not right in Chicago. It was adorable. She was clearly an expert at the ice cream store and knew right what to order. J

Goes anyone know how to get a recipe for these soups so we can make them at home? The cookbook they sell has the Pineapple Lychee Bisque and the Berry Frappe. Do you like either of those? If so, I will try to scan and send to you.

janeyzee Posted February 16, 2014 #224 Share Posted February 16, 2014 The shower on the 2nd floor was amazing – 2 showerheads and a waterfall. You could have a party in there. When I saw that shower during the Cabin Crawl, I wanted to get in it!! Gorgeous shower. One day I will have to try a CL Suite and have a party in there. janeyzee Posted February 17, 2014 #225 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Concierge Lounge We never went for the full breakfast that they offer, even though I had definitely wanted to try it. We had the full breakfast 2 or 3 times during the cruise and it was great. Next time you should try it! They had these cool serving pieces, all curvy, that fit into each other. No matter what you got, two things or three things, they fit the dishes together to make up your complete breakfast. Yeah, it's the little things that amuse me.
