Emergency number for carnival

I don't know about the experiences of others, but while I was on the Pride last summer, my mother had chest pains and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. My brother called the Carnival emergency number to let me know - the ship was on its way to Port Canaveral from which I certainly could have returned home.

The operator at the Carnival emergency number told my brother that this didn't qualify as an emergency. No matter what my brother said, the operator wouldn't budge.

Since I wasn't a party to the conversation I can't really determine what happened.

Hopefully, if you ever need it, it will work better for you than it did for me.

This is what I got from my travel agent.

If there was an emergency and someone needed to contact you, they call Carnival at 1 800-227-6482 That is the emergency call center. Provide them with the name of the passenger they are trying to contact. the ship and sail date and cabin number . The call center will contact the ship and they will give you the message to contact the person trying to reach you. The emergency call center is available is 24 /7

Wow, I've seen so many different answers to this question just today! There are Carnival reps on the Funville forum posting that they have discontinued the shore to ship number and that you are just supposed to call the 888-CARNIVAL number and speak to a supervisor. But you can still find info on the Carnival website for the 800 number that is shore to ship and costs $9.50 per minute.

I sure wish they would provide us with some concrete information on this. I'd like my kids to know how to get a hold of me if they need to.
