misguidedangel Posted February 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2014 It is a given that any ship going out of New Orleans will have some sort of Mardi Gras festivities going on. Galveston also does Mardi Gras, and the ships that go out of there had a Mardi Gras deck party when I went in 2008.
muffinbaby Posted February 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2014 I asked this same question as we are leaving on the Elation on the 3rd and most of the replies I got seemed like there wasn't really any huge celebration on Mardi Gras. Just a few beads thrown in the atrium and that was all.
cajunette Posted February 16, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2014 I usually bring beads for such cruises. We sail often for MG. We're always out of N.O, so a lot of people celebrate. Last time they had a walking parade from bar to bar and people threw beads. I'm not bringing beads as of right now, but I have a mask I'm bringing!
