Casinos at Sea players. Question For You

Low level players (like me) only get a discount. 2 months prior to the cruise, the prices drop. As a CAS player, do you still get the discount on top of new low price or they base their discount off their own pricing? For example, a balcony is $1000 but I didn't book yet. Price drops to $700. I then call and ask for the CAS discount. Will the CAS discount be based on the lower price or do they have their own pricing (or worse, base the discount off the higher price). What's your experience?

Note: this is not about being booked already and getting upgraded or get OBC when price drops. It's waiting for the price to drop before you book.

Thanks CAS players for your replies. :)

Discount should be off of the published price the day you book. The convoluted pricing with CAS occurs when you are comped one category say inside and want to upgrade to a higher category, it is not simple math (cost between the two difference, here they have their own pricing), same with booking comp where you pay port and taxes, these are not the same amounts as the published add-on for these items on NCL's site, as their is a non-refundable tax built into the base price that the comped person also has to pay.

Just what I wanted to hear. I was hoping I can book early and adjust the pricing when rates go down.

In any case rates go down after your final payment? Will they give OBC?

I too am CAS, and we booked months ago. This week, the prices dropped drastically, over $500. They would not give me an onboard credit, but they did give me a complimentary upgrade to a mini suite. I would have much preferred an OBC.
