meinnj4 Posted February 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2014 My family and I (DH 42, myself 40, DD 12 and DS 9) returned from the Dream yesterday. To sum it up...It was a fantastic vacation. We had FTTF and arrived at the port at 11:00, the lines were huge but, we walked right through the priority line and were in our cabin by 11:15. We had connecting balcony cabins 7441 & 7447, the cabin steward(Ariel, he was the best we have ever had) opened the balcony partition as soon as we asked, it worked out great. We took some advice from other on here and went to the pasta bar for lunch, it was delicious. Food: We were in the Crimson dining room(anytime dining), the food and service were excellent. Michael and his team were very attentive and fast. The lido was fair, the deli and pizza were always good. Room service had a limited menu but was always delivered within 15 min. The C-side BBQ was always very good and as long as you waiting until 12:30 or later never had a line. Entertainment: We went to 2 shows, the first was a country music themed one that isn't our taste but still well done. The second was dancing in the streets and was great. There was an orchestra playing at every show. Only attended 1 comedy show and it was good. There was live music everyday on the Lido at either the Blue Iguana or Red Frog and every evening in the casino and Ocean Plaza as well as the Burgandy lounge and The Song piano bar. The ship: It is a beautiful ship, glitzy but not overdone. Once you figure out the layout it was pretty easy to get around. My favorite part of the ship was the Lanai, always had chairs available, very few people in the hot tubs ( which were hot) always quiet. Kids Club: DS was in camp carnival, he couldn't get enough of it. On sea days he would go at 11 come back at 4 when the closed then go back from 7-10 every night. DD was in Circle C and enjoyed it as well but would have liked more activities. This age group doesn't start until after 12:00 and is limited until the evenings. Ports: Nassau, we just took a cab to the Atlantis and walked around St. Thomas we went Scuba Diving, booked ourselves though the Coki Beach Dive Shop. St. Martin we booked through Bernard's tours, beach tour 2 and it was well worth it. We saw more of the island then we could have ever done on out own, plus had beach time at Orient beach and saw the planes at Maho beach. Overall, we would do it again in a heartbeat. The crew on the Dream were the nicest, friendliest people we've had on a cruise. If anyone has any questions I will try to answer them.

cruse2loose Posted February 16, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2014 Will be on the Dream in April. I think that Deck 5 is similar to deck 5 on the Magic. Do they have any food, buffet style on deck 5 near Ocean Plaza? On the Sunshine last week, they had a breakfast buffet on Deck 5. Thanks:)

cruisecraze96 Posted February 17, 2014 #12 Share Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Thanks for the info, will be going in March as well and we have 4 rooms with 1 balcony and one OS next to each other. Hopefully we can get the doors open up to extend the balcony. Oldest DD will be 11 when we go too, she is looking forward to the kids camp. I hope DD 4 gets into it so mommy can have a couple hours down time :) What was your travel itinerary for before the cruise? Did you stay anywhere near the port, parking etc :) Edited February 17, 2014 by cruisecraze96

2 cruzen Posted February 17, 2014 #15 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Welcome back! Was it quiet surrounding your cabin location? Engineerstar, I have to laugh because every time I see a post about cabin noise, I look and it is you. Lately, every one of my posts is about the new menu on the Liberty. Btw, I LOVE your jumping dolphin. :D
meinnj4 Posted February 17, 2014 Author #16 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Engineerstar , the cabins were very quiet. dna529 The slide lines were a bit long on sea days in the afternoon but, my kids preferred to use them in the early evening and there were no lines at all. cruisecraze96 Pre-cruise we stayed at the Hampton Inn, Orlando airport. We had a late flight and didn't want to drive to the port. It was only a 5 minute ride from the airport, very clean, reasonable and included breakfast. mbyers66 Posted February 17, 2014 #18 Share Posted February 17, 2014 We are leaving 2-1-15 on the Dream. I have a question about the size and number of people. We have never been on a boat this large, and by the looks it holds about 1500 more people than the Glory or Pride which we have sailed on and loved. Question 1. Do you find it hard to navigate your way around the boat? 2. Do you have to worry about finding seats etc for the shows? Thanks! I loved your review makes me super excited! meinnj4 Posted February 17, 2014 Author #19 Share Posted February 17, 2014 The ship is not hard to navigate once you get used to the layout. Basically all decks except 3 &4 go all the way through forward to aft. We never had any problem getting seats in the main theatre, but the comedy shows fill up quick go at least 15 minutes early.
