Tips are per day. I'm confused about how many days my cruise is!

Ok, we are on a "5 day" cruise from Galveston on Triumph.

The itinerary lists day 1 - day 6.

In calculating tips, is it 11.50 per person per day times 5? Or times 6? In my budget I had included it for every day (so 6) but now I'm confused!

It would be so much easier if all cruise lines just used "Nights" instead of "Days" because the last day isn't actually a day at all! it just a "Off you get" ASAP

Travel agents like to use "Days" to make a cruise price look more attractive.

Carnival may list the debarkation day as "Day 6", but they actually only view it & list it as a 5-day cruise. Your days & nights are the same number: 5, not only in actuality, but also in how Carnival views it. You'll get credit for 5 days sailed, and it will be listed as a 5-day cruise in your history. Maybe travel agents view it or advertise it as a 6-day to make it look more attractive, but Carnival doesn't. That final morning doesn't count as part of the cruise, in my mind or in the minds of almost all cruisers. The breakfast is just to make up for not getting breakfast on embarkation day.
