mickeysgal Posted February 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Ugh! Search function down...can't find threads that address this question; Price drop on lowest level Concierge- C3 - puts it $40 less pp than what we have reserved for our 1A on the hump (deeper balcony). Would you switch? Are the perks worth it?

Would you switch? Are the perks worth it? Unless you're looking for extra Captain's Club points, I don't think the "perks" are worth it at all. YMMV Edited February 17, 2014 by teecee60

prairiesailor Posted February 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2014 mickeysgal: Having been in both categories of cabin & for only $40 per person I certainly would keep the 1A. Concierge perks to us just aren't worth it. The cabin itself is the same size as the 1A. Just my opinion for what it is worth. A few sheets of paper with your name on them, fruit platter -you can get fresh fruit in Ocean View Café every day. Bubbly wine we never drank.. Would you switch? Are the perks worth it? I guess it all depends -- $40pp could get you a nice dinner in a specialty restaurant. How much time do you spend on the balcony? Are you going to have friends over to share your balcony? Is it a port intensive cruise? Factor all that in. I like the upgraded towels, robes, and bedding that CC gives you, plus the shoe shining should you need it. Go on line and look at the other amenities to decide. H2OH! Posted February 17, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2014 We are balcony people so would choose 1A over C3....unless looking for more points. We have sailed in: 1A cabin 9292 which is first hump...huge balcony, location is perfect C1,C3 various cabins SKy suite various cabins Celebrity suite cabin 1233 which was awesome The concierge perks are not worth it it unless you want a few more points for your sailing. Good luck with your decision
PEIpair Posted February 17, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 17, 2014 I would not give up my larger balcony for a C3 either. To me, the only real advantages would be the extra points and balcony footrests but only you can decide what it's worth to you.
fla jack Posted February 17, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2014 I don't believe you can switch to a lower priced cabin. You stated it is $40 LESS P/P. Upgrades are only granted if you are paying any dollar amount more than your original booking. I would keep the hump balcony. We had one on the Eclipse Nov T/A & it was fantastic. Jack That's the case if you've hit the final payment date. Anytime before final payment, you can switch to a lower priced stateroom.
