arielsong88 Posted February 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) I'm trying to plan excursions and I'm wondering if the ship changes time zones as it travels from Los Angeles (pacific standard time) to Cabo, Mazatlan, and PV. The last thing I want to do is screw up the timing and miss my excursion or the ship! If it helps, I'm sailing on the Norwegian Star in a few weeks. Thanks in advance!!! Ine Posted February 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Most lines do a time change for Cabo and Mazatlan. But only some of them do it for Puerto Vallarta, since that again has a different time zone. Check with passengers that sailed the Star. Maybe this link to the port of Vallarta that gives local arrival/departure times might help too: http://www.puertodevallarta.com.mx/Documentos/calendario_2014.pdf
arielsong88 Posted February 18, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Thanks! I've posted on the NCL board as well. The pdf you link to shows that the arrival and departure times of the Star appear to coincide with the times listed on the cruise itinerary (which are presumably listed in "ship time"). Folks on the NCL board are saying that the ship does convert to local time in PV, so it all makes sense. Thanks so much!

How glad am I that March 9 is the day of disembarkation so that I don't have to worry about that?!
CWcruisers Posted February 20, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2014 Then there is March 9... Daylight Savings Begins. Many cruisers have been left in PV. Yes, especially since Mexico sticks with the old way of daylight savings time and they don't change until April 6th. That really messes up things.:p
