Parents with children boarding separately

I will be heading to the port with my children and my husband will be coming later when he gets out of work. Am I going to have a problem getting onboard, or is it fine because he is also scheduled to cruise with us? I just love finding new things to worry about!

You shouldn't have a problem. My sister sometimes cruises with her kids without her husband and has never had a problem. Also, my one nephew does not have a mother and my brother has never had an issue taking a cruise.

Make sure he has his boarding pass and passport.

Print the seperate boarding passes and not the all in one and you should be fine. Make sure he keeps ahold of his own doucments/passport. I doubt that they will hassle you for a permission letter (if that's what you are concerned about) as his name is on the reservation.

It was the permission thing I was concerned about, thank you. I did do the separate boarding passes and will make sure he has everything he needs.

I just figured if they don't care about people cruising without one of the parents present at all, they certainly won't care if one of the parents happens to be checking in seperately.

I've taken my daughter on six cruises so far, (5 with a Passport, 1 with just the birth certificate) and never once have they asked for permission from her father. But if he's also on the reservation I really wouldn't worry. I'd be more worried about him making it to the terminal on time than not letting the kids board (but I'm neurotic like that).

We have cruised twice with the DS's friend and even though we had a permission letter that was signed and notarized from his parents, we were never asked for it. No one at any point asked to see it. I don't know if their ages made a difference. On one cruise the friend was 17 and on the other he was 18. He's a year older than the DS. So, I'm thinking that if they let us on with a kid that had a different last name than us, they will probably let your DH on with kids that have the same last name as his.:)
