amberpop Posted February 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2014 On our first caribbean cruise, we were allocation our table on the first night, the second cruise we were seated where was available any only allocated on evening no 2. I don't know if this was because the cruise had friday and saturday flights when the previous one didn't. Our next cruise which we are joining on saturday also has friday flights, is anyone aware what the seating arrangements will be on the first night? Thanks, Anne and Jim
sueandphil Posted February 20, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2014 Both times when we have joined our Caribbean cruise on a Saturday we have had our allocated on the first night. Never thought to ask the people who flew out on the Friday if they were allocated on the first night. Still, that won't worry you if you don't arrive till the Saturday
annieuk Posted February 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2014 Whenever we have arrived on a flight for a Caribbean cruise it has always been open seating as the planes arrive at all different times and it's not possible to have allocated seating when some planes haven't arrived until late. Captain Rob Posted February 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2014 Ventura Saturday departure in January we had our allocated table in club dining 8:30. We queried this at the Freedom dining restaurant as we passed by as last year on the Azura it was open dining on the first night. When we asked the freedom restaurant manager said we could go in there if we wanted that night, but we still went to our allocated table. Seems a bit flexible if you ask. ParCan Posted February 21, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 21, 2014 After getting up at ~ 6 AM to be at a UK Airport on time, ~9 hours Flying to Barbados, 45 min bus journey,1/2 hr in the shed to get on board, Muster at ~ 10 PM UK time and first sitting at 11:30 PM UK Time, a lot of people don't actually make dinner for the first evening. It would make perfect sense to me not to get your regular table on your first night.

Try checkin at 07.15 for a 10.35 flight, end up with a 10 hour delay at Manchester fly into a headwind therefore 10 hr flight evetually end up on ship at 3 in the morning local time or 7am UK time!
