boaterette Posted February 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2014 Has anyone booked on their own? What was the cost and the times of the excursion?
CWcruisers Posted February 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2014 It's not that expensive on the ship. I've done it several times plus you get a bottle of wine.
Twinswithtwins Posted February 22, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2014 I'd also like to know the answer to this question. I'm traveling with my 20 year old daughter but Carnival has a 21 year old age limit to 'taste'. I completely understand that. Just wondering if we can pick up a tour from the plaza instead. Or considering renting a car for the day and exploring a bit. Wouldn't mind seeing the blowhole while we are there, also. Any suggestions?

xbatt8 Posted February 24, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2014 We were quoted $20 about a month ago. Just take the shuttle bus from the dock into town ($2) and they will tell you about the tour on the way. When you get off the bus, there is a ticket agent right there who will be glad to sign you up. From what others have said, it is the same tour as the Carnival tour. Same 2 wineries, and you also get a bottle of wine. HOWEVER, I have also read that if you take the Carnival tour, you can take the bottle of wine on the ship and drink it (even in the MDR with no corkage fee). I cannot say for sure that this is true, just that I have read it on the boards. If you do decide to take the Carnival tour, you should probably put in for the new price guarantee. Just be sure to get the literature from the tour company in town to submit with your form. If it is the same, Carnival has to give you the difference in OBC. The price guarantee is simple. Vallarta Adventures had a 15% off "special internet price" month or so ago. Sent in form and had a response back the following day. Made Rythm o' the Night less than $85pp for late March trip.
