Has anyone tried the new app while onboard to communicate with others on the ship? If so, any tips? Or is it not worth using?

It depends if all the friends and family members who are cruising with you want to carry their smart phones with them all the time while on the ship. It does work as long as your browser stays open and your connected to their wifi.
