Sanary sur mer

Hello -- Sanary is a very pleasant place to stroll around, though to my mind it's lacking in really outstanding sights. The area around the port is very pretty and colourful. If you're in town in a Wednesday, it has an extensive market (I visited on a Tuesday, when there was a reduced, but still good selection of stalls, mainly local food produce).

The backstreets of the Old Town are full of restaurants and (rather touristy) shops). If you are travelling with kids, there's a nice zoo and tropical gardens on the edge of Sanary (you'd need a taxi), that recently came under new ownership.

The other attractions are of rather specialist interest, such as a diving museum and a Jewish heritage trail (Sanary was a magnet for literary and artistic exiles during WW2). More about Sanary: http://www.marvellous-provence.com/other-places/towns/sanary-sur-mer/town-guide
