hazel80 Posted February 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2014 We are independant travellers, not taking a FO flight, and we want to arrange a collection from Santa Cruz, does anyone know what time we will be asked to leave the ship as we have to let the transfer company know. We have a hotel for the day. We are on the 12th March cruise. Thank you
Mark_T Posted February 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2014 There is no set time that disembarkation can accurately be predicted to start in advance, and you will be asked to fill in a form on board that indicates when you need to leave the ship. I'd suggest you check what time your ship is due to dock, allow a couple of hours after that for formalities to be completed then pick a time after that which seems reasonable. It will be crowded and busy on board as everyone will be out of their cabins from around 9:00 or so, so you will not want to stay on board longer than you need to but if you try to arrange your transfer too early there is always a risk that you may get delayed. From our experience, as long as you are due to dock early in the morning, I'd aim for something like 11:00am, but make sure you have the phone number of the people collecting you, just in case. Mark_T Posted February 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2014 Our flight's check in to LGW with Monarch is around 1630 ish on a Fred Charter. little bit concerned about chucking out time and subsequent transfer to airport. Is a free Tour of the island envisaged !!!! ? Free? No, but there is often a tour offered for sale that will occupy most of the time and drops you off at the airport at the end. You will be out of your cabins right around breakfast time, but the rest of the ship and the dining facilities are available to you until the transfer to the airport actually leaves the ship. Do expect to be dropped at the airport earlier than you would prefer as they need to clear the ship before the new passengers arrive and you will be waiting for that aircraft to be turned around and prepared to take you back so at least a couple of hours wait at the airport is to be expected.
