misha1 Posted July 23, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2005 Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on the cost of cab fare from the Miami airport to northern Miami Beach? We are staying at Bay Harbor Inn and Suites. Is there usually larger van-like cabs available for use at Miami airport? There are 23 of us arriving. Ships R Great Posted July 23, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2005 I would look into reserving transportation in advance. google "limo service Miami" and see what you get. I know a reliable service in Jacksonville. Tmay have an office in Miami if you want it.
rjg41 Posted July 24, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2005 Cabs will be you least expensive and most convienient if people are arriving at different times. If you are all arriving together you might find a bus/limo service that will offer a reasonable price but having been there and tried to do that, could not beat cab prices. Note this link. http://www.miami-airport.com/html/taxi_and_shuttle_service.html Note the zones at the top. Bay Harbor Inn is Zone 2. Cost from MIA is $38/cab plus $0.30 fuel cahrge. Miami-Dade cabs are allowed to carry up to five passengers. Many cabs are the van type, mostly white in color(NOT the Blue Shuttle) and have plenty of room for passengers and luggage. Blue Shuttle is more expensive and note the charge for going to hotels and that is per person. There are plenty of cabs at the airport and if the next one in line is a sedan type and you have lots of people and luggage you can insist on the next van type in line. Enjoy. kytten_kat Posted July 24, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2005 Guess I am confused ... the shuttle listed is it different then supershuttle ... and are the "van" taxis more then the "car" Thanks! Candy
rjg41 Posted July 26, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 26, 2005 There is NO additional charge for the van size taxis. All "taxis" are primarily white in color and as I recall it is the American Cab Company as opposed to blue for the SuperShuttle. You will see the van taxis in the normal taxi line both at the pier and at the airport. You can also have them called to your hotel if they are not already lined up.
