cpizzull Posted February 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2014 I've read so many reviews and yet still don't understand exactly how the 'food' portion works at Nachi Cocom. I've seen reviews were people say they had so much food and other reviews that said you get 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 dessert. Can someone indicate exactly how this goes down? Is it unlimited based on your 1 choice of each course? I can't order fries, cheese sticks, tacos, burger, and whatever else all day long? I've also read that you could purchase add'l food, hence the prices on the menu. Just trying to understand what this 'all-inclusive' means so expectations are set correctly. ;o)

Poolside, palapa on the beach, etc. and they will leave a menu with you to make your choices.) I have never made it past the appetizers and the main courses to desert in my five trips there. (and I'm a very BIG guy) The portions are large. Usually we order an appetizer (mine) and both share it. Then an hour or two later order another (DW's) and share that. Then later we wander up to the restaurant for our main courses. I have never felt the need to try to order an extra burger, etc... after eating my main order of fajitas every time. Hopefully somebody else can verify if they were able to order extra apps as the day went on. To my understanding it is one order of each course. But I too have read many reviews that made it sound like they ordered many, many apps. I always assumed it may have been a large group, who does like we do, where we order an app and share it, then order another and share it, etc... So if you order Nachos, is it one plate of Nachos (the pics I saw didn't look like that much really), or will they keep bringing you nacho refills? And are you choosing off the regular full menu, or is this a limited 4-course type menu?
bguppies Posted February 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Thank you! So if you order Nachos, is it one plate of Nachos (the pics I saw didn't look like that much really), or will they keep bringing you nacho refills? And are you choosing off the regular full menu, or is this a limited 4-course type menu? I've never asked for a refill on anything other than drinks. So like I said, hopefully somebody who grazed all day can help with that question. Everything, apps, main course, desert came off the same menu they bring you at the start. Found Mitsugirly's menu pictures. This was the same menu we had the last 3-4 times. When are you going to Cozumel...? (May 24th?) I am going to be back at Nachi on April 11th and can find out exactly what the food policy is, for sure, if nobody else can come in and clear it up... Now you have me curious, even though I can't finish what I get now..:D
cpizzull Posted February 26, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted February 26, 2014 Ha. Perfect (your trip date). I look fwd to a detailed report. ;o) I have seen the menu pics so that's good to hear. I was concerned for a bit there was a separate 4-course menu that was so limited my kids would hate the food, ha. I assume they take US dollars in case we wanted to buy a burger or something (I probably won't)? We have 31 people booked for Nachi. It will be like our private beach, ha. mrsfuzzmo Posted February 26, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2014 We grazed all day. They did not keep track of who had what. (There were 8 of us). We had multiple appetizers, some had lunch, I had some delicious shrimp when I was at the pool. None of us did desserts. I know we had plenty to eat. We just ordered from our waiter and he brought us what we wanted. No questions asked. That was a year ago, so maybe it's changed, but it was delicious food.....and plenty of it. Rare rjm11 Posted February 26, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2014 The food at nachi was very good, and there was lots of it. We were there with our two young kids last year- we ended up asking for my chips for the guac I think- they were brought no questions asked and no additional charge of course. They seemed very accomodating there. My son is a very picky eater- he had some sort of chicken fingers there (I think it was an app?) and ate it- mostly ate fries. But the kids had had so many smoothies at the included bar that they weren't that hungry anyway! You'll like it- it's a great set up with something for everyone. cpizzull Posted February 26, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted February 26, 2014 That's great to hear. Thank you both! I figure all the drinking will fill us up anyway I guess. :o)
