Time Change?

How does the Time change work. If I am booking shore excursions outside the cruise line, I would tell the guide the local time, but what is the local time? Does the ship change times, and port times are local times?

Unfortunately, some ships, even those with the same cruise line, change the ship's time to reflect local time and some stay on the same time throughout the entire cruise no matter if they cruise to different time zones. You might want to ask this question on the board of the cruise line you're cruising on as they might know if your ship will be changing time. I've been on some RCCI ships that kept the same time for the entire cruise even though they cruised into a new time zone, and some that changed time. Of course the port time is the same time as the whole island---they cannot go by a cruise ship's time.
