Has 4x4 St. Maarten & Beach Escape improved?

Hi,

 

My friend has us booked on the 4x4 St. Maarten & Beach Escape while we are on Oasis. I am reading some pretty awful reviews of this excursion but they are kind of old.

 

Has anyone taken this tour recently and could you tell me if it has improved or if it still is bad?

Wanted to know the same thing but I found out the traffic road problems are the same and also that it's not good because when ever you stop beach shopping they have to park in certain locations with enough room for all the jeeps so there is anywhere from 15 to 20 minute walks each time probably easier to rent your own and get a map just be sure your comfortable driving in the mountains

We decided to cancel the tour and to get a rental a few weeks ago.
