Back to back cruises

Hi,

Is there anything special as to how NCL handle b2b cruises?

One was booked via the UK & one via the US, but both are in MyNCL.

Nothing more than that if you are going to purchase FCRs, do it on the leg that is booked through NCL office (UK or US) you are going to use in the future.

So if you are getting the FCRs on the leg that was booked through UK, you'll get get the reward(s) on your file in GBP and they can not be used in US and vice versa for the other leg.

i believe that Demonyte is talking about further cruise rewards.

I believe what Ian is asking, how does NCL hands B2B in Barcelona?

If anybody has done this, what time can we get off of the ship and how late can we get back on. Do we have to get off as a group (all of the B2B people)?

I suppose B2B passengers can be handled differently at different ports. Here was our experience when DW and I booked a 3 and 4 day cruise (MIA to Bahamas to MIA to Bahamas to MIA) on the Sky. We just wanted a week...didn't matter where. This was the best for our budget that year...2009.

The ship knows who the B2B passengers are. We were notified by our concierge to meet at a certain place on the ship at a certain time during disembarkation of the first segment. Once passengers completely disembarked the ship, we were escorted down to immigration and submitted a customs declaration. Our status was IN TRANSIT...as this was technically not our final destination.

After immigration was complete, we were escorted back up to the ship. No additional steps were taken by us.

NOTE: our keycard had the disembarkation date of the 2nd segment; we had the same cabin for both segments. I think if you have a different cabins on each segment you will have to be re-issued new cards.

Hope this gives you an idea of what you can expect. YMMV.

We are also taking a b2b.

do you really mean I have to wait hours until everyone is off? We arrive in Rome at 5am and I want to be on the first train out to Rome.

Also--did you need to participate in a 2nd safety drill?

B2B are typically out of the same port (e.g. Eastern Med, then Western Med...with a common homeport). Are you taking 2 separate cruises leaving from 2 different ports? EDIT: they aren't typically from same port. they are typical in MY mind, because i can't afford B2B cruises that are part of a repositioning.

Yes...each time the ship leaves it's homeport you must participate in Muster Drill.

You won't have to wait to get off, but you will need the "In Transit" tag and paperwork they give you. Talk to the Guest Services manager and let them know what you want to do.

You will need to do the second muster drill.

Yes, I was talking about Future Cruise Rewards earlier - they are always in the currency that the cruise was booked in and cannot be changed.

We have never had to attend the second drill when the cruise continues with the same ship - on some occasions we've had to visit the assembly station to make our presence known but we didn't need to stay there.

Perfect example of how it may vary across different ports.

future cruise rewards are in dollars and can be used in UK at the agreed rate when brought, or USA at the dollar rate. I've brought onboard before (cruise booked in UK) and used at a USA travel agent.

If you have succeeded, that's great. I've been told that they can not be used between offices (I was worried about if my FCR would be placed in EU office since I reside in EU even though I've booked all cruises through US) and that is the impression from the form itself too:

Not sure how early you mean by first train; but having done that last November I would say give yourself plenty of time, eg we were off ship on the dock at 0715 and managed to be at the station buying BIRG tickets at 0750 for the 0800(ish) train.

Unless the rules have changed in the last 12 months the agents/NCL say all they care about is the latitudes number and can trace the rest through that..

1st Cruise - booked UK with a travel agent, brought future cruise rewards

2nd cruise: booked USA with a travel agent, used cruise reward and brought new one

3rd cruise: booked through UK NCL office using cruise reward.

I guess, they can at any time turn round and say I can't do it, but so far, so good.
