What side of ship for Alaska

HI,

Could use some advice. Am booking an Alaska cruise abd have a question?

What side of the ship is better for veiwing when cruising. Am getting balcony but not sure if one side is better than the other.

If you are booking the Inside Passage out of Vancouver, either side will be perfect because you are surrounded by awesome scenery most of the time, coming and going. Please state what route you are taking, and what ship and port you sail from and return to. gg

I am on the port side on my upcoming Alaskian trip (next summer) round trip out of Seattle. Am I on the wrong side?

I'm cruising out of Seattle round trip on NCL Star.

We are going to Juneau, Skagway, Kitchikan and Victoria.

Any advice would be welcome.

If you are going on the West side of Vancouver Island (Pacific Ocean side), you will see a little more scenery leaving Seattle on Starboard (right) side of ship, but not enough to matter. Also in ports you may dock on either side at various ports. I just don't think port or starboard really matter in Alaska, because once you get into the true Inside Passage, both sides have magnificent scenery, esp. at the glaciers. We have been forward starboard, and aft port on 2 Alaska cruises and it did not matter. To see great scenery and wildlife, you really need to be on deck with good binnoculars, as much as you can, as early as you can. Treasure this adventure and make the most of it. gg

We just returned from a Star cruise 6/26. We had a port side balcony on level ten. I would say that starboard side is overall slightly more scenic except when cruising glacier bay. We stayed in our cabin on the balcony throughout the narration of the glaciers. It was a magnificent sight! Starboard cabins didn't get this benefit as the narration was over during the exit from glacier bay. Hope this helps.
