Leaving Ship early in Moorea

Curious to know details from anyone that has left the Princess Cruise 1 day early in Moorea.

What time do you have to be off the ship by?

What is the process?

We are considering leaving the ship a day early in Moorea, however, we have a dive planned that morning.

Ideally, we want to get off the ship in the morning, go diving, return to the ship, get our stuff, and disembark, and spend the night at the IC Moorea.

Not a problem

I've done it twice from a Princess ship. We do what we want in the morning, come back to the ship for lunch and a shower. Then grab our stuff and rent a car. We then head to a hotel and enjoy a few days ............. no problem. Just make sure you have your passports when leaving the ship for the last time.

Tikiintahiti,

I would like your opinion on the following. . . DH & I are on a Princess cruise ending on April 1 in Papeete. We have a March 31 flight back to LAX (11:50pm). We arrive back to Papeete on March 31 approx. 8pm. Not sure how long it takes to dock and let passengers off 8:30-9:00 ish. Do you think that 9pm getting a taxi from the ship to the airport will be enough time to check-in and make our flight or would you suggest getting off in Moorea that same afternoon, taking the ferry over to Papeete and getting to the airport much sooner. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Laurie

You have things that are beyond your control, mainly the time you can get off the ship.

What is in your control is to get off in Moorea and take a late afternoon ferry back to Tahiti.

If in fact you can be off the ship by 9:00pm heading to the airport you would be fine but then again that's an "if" that you don't have control over.
