trvldog Posted March 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2014 Asking if anyone has rented the cabanas before with Carnival in Roatan. If so when do you get assigned a cabana number when you arrive or is this something we can do when we board ship with the excursion desk? If you have rented one is there any favorite location or are the all about the same. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I rented a cabana on Roatan once, but it was several years ago so I'm having trouble remembering the details. As best as I can remember, they did not give the cabin assignment until you get on the island. They just tell you to check in at a certain place when you get on the island, and then a person takes you to your cabana. They gave me a key for the cabana so you can lock your stuff up if you want. There is an area in front of the cabanas to hang out. The beach in front of the cabanas is supposed to be reserved for people renting the cabanas, but other people just crossed over the rope and came right in and no one stopped them. I did not care for these cabanas nearly as much as the ones at Half Moon Cay.

Atleast one person had to leave a s&s card to get the key, it was returned when the key was. Wrists bands were issued for each person. The escort will take you directly to your cabana. We had the very last cabana, I think we were the last folks to claim one. This location was less crowed, which I liked, as it was towards the end of the beach. The water was a bit rocky, so take water shoes. Edited March 8, 2014 by dmarie1623
RoscoeJames Posted March 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2014 We rented one last year and have rented for our upcoming cruise. We had a staff person keep most non - renters away but not all. Great spot and for a family. We had 2 families in one Cabana last year. Clay.

reno3 Posted March 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2014 (edited) We rented a cabana this past December. The only difference is we had a security guy that was keeping the people out of the area if they did not have a cabana. He did a very good job.
