We will be staying a day post cruise in istanbul possibly booking our own accommodation will celebrity take our lugguage of ship and has anyone experience of taxis in istanbul port we are thinking of staying at the Amira

Once you get off the ship, Celebrity will not be responsible for your luggage, unless you book their post cruise hotel. If you go it on your own, you will be responsible for your own luggage.

If I understood your question, Celebrity will collect your luggage from your cabin the evening before disembarkation. During the cruise you will receive a questionnaire about your disembarkation plans. On your last full day, when your cabin steward cleans your cabin you will receive luggage tags that will correspond to your disembarkation schedule. Because you will be staying in Istanbul you will have a late disembarkation. When your number is called you will disembark the ship to a large room containing the luggage. Your luggage will be in an area with the color and/or numbers or letters you were assigned. You will collect your luggage and proceed through the Turkish security. There will be cabs as you exit the terminal. The area will be clearly marked.
