Just received the call. My first 12 cruises no calls. My 13th got a call from the upgrade fairy. Went from riviera porthole to riviera ocean view. This time it was up sell fairy. Went from main interior to lido balcony. 350. This will be my first balcony. It is on the 8 day Freedom out of Fort Lauderdale March 22. I am cruising solo.

 

I think I got a decent deal.

not true for all of us. I've had interior, balcony, boardwalk balcony, and grand suite. my first cruise after the grand suite was an interior and I've booked more interiors since then...

Congrats.. I got the call from the fairy a few days ago for my cruise. I have only cruised a couple times but I have always gone with a suite. Except for the cruise I sail on next week. We just went with a regular balcony. When the upgrade fairy called he said that the people they call first for upgrades are guests that have been in Balconies or suites in the past

We have gone back and forth from inside to ov to balcony and than back again.

 

All a matter of cost. Enjoy.

You can go back...as another poster said, it's just a matter of cost and the itinerary.

 

Last cruise we had an aft wrap balcony...best balcony ever! Next cruise...interior.

Great deal, enjoy your cruise and the balcony. 7 days + = Balcony for us, 6 or less we can handle the ocean view. No desire for inside, that's where we put the children ;).

I actually prefer an interior over ocean view. I like the darkness of the room. My last cruise I had ocean view. Even when I stayed up till 3 am, I still woke up around 7:30 due to the light. We will see if the positive of the balcony overcomes the negative of the light.

 

I had an ocean view one other time. It was one with the couch, which made it a bigger room. That was nice since it was me and 2 nephews.

Lido balconies are the absolute BEST

SO convenient to everything and very quiet.

i'm booked for my 14th cruise this year and have been on a balcony (10th)

 

did not care for it.

 

inside , outside , as long as its a cruise.

 

never received a upgrade call or anything free from carnival.

 

guess i'm just not blessed , just cruising.

 

did get a half price offer , something about music cruise.
