Need some expert advice re: nassau

We will be cruising to nassau on sunday, may 11. We plan on going to Atlantis to visit the casino and maybe the digs. My questions are:

We would like an authentic but upscale bahamian lunch. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Also, best way to get to Atlantis that doesn't involve an overcrowded taxi or water taxi? Our first and only experience with Nassau was less than positive and we are hoping for a better time with this visit.

We have been to Nassau many many times and had a GREAT time each and every time but this last January I suffered with sciatica pain and good not do extensive walking so we decided on a private tour. He was very informative and helpful and we felt 100 % safe the entire time!!

If you are looking for a "authentic Bahamian lunch" at Atlantis, you won't find it. I would suggest downtown's Cafe Matisse, - u will need a reservation.

Most upscale venues are not open for lunch. Lunch venues are generally casual.

Getting to Atlantis without the shuttle??? You could walk outside the gate toward the wharf and get a private taxi. $11 for 2 ppl./ $4 for ea. add'l person. Coming back you may have a problem finding a cab that wants to take just a few passengers back to the ship. Since they can make more $$ filling up. You may have to wait.
