Baded Posted March 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2014 I know that at least a few folks out there have been on TA's. Can you please share some information, like what did you do every day when you were at sea? Did RCI have a lot of programs? My DW and I are doing a TA this Nov on the Quantum and she is concerned about being, well not really bored, just what did you for 8 days? She is from New York and has trouble sitting for more than 10 minutes at a time! Thanks in advance for your input. Ed  :)
willing292 Posted March 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2014 The ship has lots of activities. We like to watch the water and read, but never have difficulty finding something to do. Shirley, Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

Ed  :)[/QUOTE] We've been on several TA's and it depends on the cruise director how many activities there are during the day. We've had some cruises, where we were bored and others where we were so busy we had trouble deciding which activity we wanted to do. With the Quantum being a new ship and it's first TA, I really don't think you have to worry. I would think, you could spend a lot of time exploring the ship. There will be the usual trivia games, usually have some craft classes and of course the casino will be open early and late. I don't know who the CD will be on your cruise. Could be Ken Rush, he usually brings out the new ships and I think I read somewhere there will be two CD's on the Quantum. You could also catch up on your reading. With eight sea days, you might be able to read several. Just kidding.:) There's always plenty going on in the evening. Just eating dinner, takes a couple of hours and after dinner, there will be shows, etc. I would love to be on this TA, if only to see Mama Mia. He wanted to do a TA and I was worried I would go stir crazy. Not to worry, there is a lot to do on the ship, even on all those sea days. In fact, I have learned to love TA sailings because I feel I can get away from the outside world completely, but still have lots to do on the ship. The Cruise Director staff often gets more free range on the TA sailings as they dont follow the normal schedule. They can have a lot more fun doing games and contests onboard. I like trivia and they were able to have some extra trivia games that they dont normally do. They often also have lectures during the day, they have had the dancers put on a special revue where they had created their own choreography outside of the normal show. They created a passenger chorus where they got up on stage and sang for the rest of the ship. I think you will enjoy it a lot.
