FLL area hotel with a car

Hello,

We are doing our first cruise in Oct from Port Everglades. We are flying in on sat and Sailing on Monday. Since we have some extra time in town we decided to rent a car. I'm now looking for hotels. Since we have a car we wont need to worry about shuttles and cab fares so I am wondering if there are parts of town or near by towns that will have better rates. I don't need fancy but I do want clean and safe! It would be a huge plus to not pay for parking as well.

Look at hotel chains nearer the airport in Dania. They will have parking lots included. You will only be a 10-15 min ride into town and the beach.

Look in Plantation. There is LaQuinta, Hampton, and Hyatt Place, and it's close to Sawgrass Mills Mall. :)

I booked a hotel in Plantation, Staybridge Suites. It was reasonably priced for a room with 2 bedrooms. They also have studio rooms for less money. Breakfast, wifi, parking, all included. Near Sawgrass and shopping. I haven't stayed there yet but tripadvisor has good reviews for them.
