Booking Shore Excursions With RCL

I'm going on an Alaskan cruise on the Radiance in late August. How far in advance should I book the shore excursions? Although they are more expensive, I tend to like the convenience of booking everything with RCL instead of with individual tour companies.

Has anyone booked this package before? If so, how does it work? Do I book the first tour online and then the other tours when I board the ship? Is it value for money?

We were on the Radiance in mid August of 2012. I started booking our excursions right after I booked the cruise. I just wanted to make sure I would get the ones we were interested in and also the time frame that I wanted.

 

Sorry, can't answer you question about the 4 in 1 package. I'm not sure whether it was available when we cruised in 2012. It sounds like a nice deal.
