Best time to go to Hawaii

My husband surprised me for my 40th birthday a cruise in Hawaii... we decided on the NCL Pride of America! Now we are trying to decide the best time to go in 2015... weather wise and price wise also.. I know the say anytime in Hawaii is perfect.. but we dont want to be there when its really humid.. ( was told July and Aug is very humid ) We were also told to stay away from school brakes.. So we were thinking in May.. Any advise / tips would be greatly appreciated!

I'd like to know as well, have started looking at May dates in 2015 and waiting for price drops.
