Corfu - Rent car or ?

Hi,

 

We will be in Corfu for our first time in June. We are there 10-5pm.

I'm hoping someone who has been there or rented a car there could give me there opinion.

 

We have a reservatio for a car rental, but after seeing a video of the street signs I'm not sure if it was a good idea. There is no way we will be able to read the signs anywhere if there are not in English.

 

Is the town enough to see in itself for the day, or should we drive around to see other areas?

Last time we visited Corfu we rented a car. We had a gps (in English) and the signage was also in English so we had no problems finding our way around.

We had a very enjoyable day and I would do it again.

Corfu (and Greece) is a huge spot for (charter) tourism so its easy to get around as most of the population and the driving directions are in English.

 

The closest car rental office is just outside the gate where your ship docks.

We enjoyed the monastery Virgin Mary, "Castle of the Angels” -“Angleokastro, Achilleion Palace and of course the monastery at mouse (Pontikonisi) Island.

 

 

We had a really wonderful day and I am sure you will enjoy it too.

We rented a jeep right across from the port gate. Best idea ever.
