bjd2 Posted March 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2014 Hello, If we want to leave our hotel around 10 to go to the ship (FTTF), would we just go down then and request a cab or should we call an hour or so ahead? Thanks, Bobbie
WLHyatt Posted March 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2014 It'll take maybe 10 minutes from the time the hotel calls a cab before it gets to you. I usually go down and have them call the cab, then make our way to the lobby with our luggage and by the time we've caught our breathe the taxi is there and we're on our way to the ship. Sometimes they will run the meter, which will result in a cheaper fare than the normal $7pp flat rate, but they can't go any more than $7pp. You are safe budgeting that amount. nolatravelgirl Posted March 24, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2014 The FQ is full of taxis. If you called down an hour prior they would laugh at you. Most major hotels usually have cabs out front just waiting for fares.
maldenmusic Posted March 24, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2014 Finding a taxi there won't be a problem at all. Just call when you are ready.
misguidedangel Posted March 30, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 30, 2014 We waited perhaps five minutes for a cab at best.....Beware, sometimes you don't get the sharpest knife in the drawer for a driver. The cab we took had an ID that didn't quite match the driver and uhm, er, well, our suitcases and carry on's didn't fit so well and he couldn't close the trunk. We spent the entire trip keeping one eye watching the trunk to make sure a bag never flew out!!!!! We got there all bags intact, but man, felt like forever getting to the port in that cab.....
