alwayscruisin77 Posted March 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2014 Princess 5 Day Western Caribbean. Has anyone gone to the Turtle Farm at Grand Cayman without booking through the ship? How did you get there? We have a baby & toddler so looking for something easy & cheap. What did you go in Cozumel? We are looking for a relaxing beach day. Any recommendations on private reliable taxis/tour businesses is appreciated!
bigandlil Posted March 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2014 My husband and daughter took a cab from the pier area to the Turtle Farm as soon as they tendered ashore. Easy. When they were ready to leave, they asked the cab driver who picked them up to recommend a beach for the second part of their adventure. They were taken to "Cemetery beach" which was devoid of tourists and had a fabulous time snorkeling. Then they took the local bus back to the port. Cabs were NOT expensive at all. Maksim Posted March 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2014 We were there just last New Year's cruise. For Grand Cayman, beach is your best place to spend the day. The water is wonderful. There is a Seven Mile Beach and if you take a taxi, they will know where to take you. There are nice shops around town as well just off the pier (we were on tender, not sure how it will be for you). Walk around a little, there are bars and cute little stores. As to Cozumel, we went to All Inclusive Resort, Mr. Sanchoz. We got a taxi (they have 8 passenger's vans) and the price is pretty cheap. At the resort, we didn't want to purchase all inclusive drinks and food, but if you want, it's about $55 per person. The entrance is free regardless. You can just talk to one of the waiters on the beach and he lets you use the lounges and tables under the umbrellas if you order some beer or/and whatever else you want. Either way works, depending on your appetite for food and drinks. We enjoyed the beach and took taxi back to port. The ride is about 20 minutes or so. Hope this helps.
