Mini suite

Probably been asked before but are there any perks to a mini suite? Are they much bigger than a balcony?

None that I could find. Also, the balcony in some are bigger than others. Depends on the ship, deck and layout of your cabin.

No perks, size difference to balcony cabin is more on Dawn class and Jewel class ships than on newer ships. Older mini-suites also usually have a curtain between the bed and sitting area, as well as pretty deep bathtubs under the shower. On newer ships (especially Breakaway class) the size difference is much smaller and most of it is in the bigger bathroom (no bathtubs on all mini-suites on newest ships).

OP - which ship? Different classes have different differences. :p

 

The consistent different is size. Mini's are longer by 5-8 feet, which gives them some more square footage and the ability to add some other things.

 

On the Jewel Class, the minis' are MUCH better for families because the extra room gives you a couch that folds down into a nice bed, separated with a curtain, and doesn't block access to the balcony. The balcony room has a fold out couch for one person, and a pull down bunk that blocks the balcony. You also get a bathtub in the mini

 

On the Epic you really just get the extra room and either a much larger shower or a bath tub depending on the room layout.

 

There are no other perks to the rooms, like special soaps, services, events, etc.

The Gem is the same class as the Jewel and Pearl. I highly recommend the mini-suite over the balcony, especially if you have more than 2 people in the room. The layout is much nicer
