Brilliance - Venice - masks for ball

Did you see costumes at the ball held the night you were in Venice? What kind? Are the masks expensive?

A few people wore full costumes. Most wore just the masks. We bought our masks in Venice and some can be expensive. But if you shop around you can get a good deal. We bought ours in a little store on a side street away from St. Marks Square and they were less expensive there. My mask and my sons were $25 each, my husband's was $30. In the Square, my son's mask cost $60, so just shop around a little.

There are stalls selling masks by the pier where the tender boats come into St Marks where the masks are very very reasonable, Start at 10 euros.

What time/where is the ball held? I take it from the previous post that it is held the night the ship is docked in Venice. Is that correct? We'll be on BOS for the Oct. 15 sailing.

Actually, the ball was the night we left Venice - it was a formal night. The ball was held at the Colony Club. It was a great time. They had judges to pick best masks. I believe it started around 10:30 p.m., but most started wearing their masks at dinner. (Had to take them off to eat and drink though lol).
