Time in Barbados before or after Calabaza

We are super excited about our upcoming tour with Calabaza, but I have a few questions:

Is the ship on a different time zone than Barbados?

Since the tour is 5 hours and we are scheduled in port for 9 hours, how much time will we realistically have to explore before or after?

The itinerary says we will get in at 8am and Calabaza said to meet at 9am to depart at 9:30 am.

Is there much to do in the immediate port area before or after the tour?

Thanks for any info!

There isn't much to do around the port. There are some shops in a port building you have to walk by to get to the catamaran meeting place.

We did a catamaran last March and wanted to hit up some things afterward but snorkeling and drinking got the best of us. Our boat left Barbados at 5 so we figured, off the catamaran at 230, drop off at the port 300, get back to the ship by 4 just to be early. So it didn't leave much time to do much else. we went back to the port shops, found a little wifi, not sure from what shop but it was difficult to get signal. However The made in Barbados rum prices are pretty good at the port shops I recall.

We have done Calabaza a few times and are going back next January. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. You will have some time after the trip to shop. There are a few stores in the terminal. You can also have the taxi drop you off in town if you want. Just need to catch another taxi to get back to the port. All the times we were there we left out of San Juan and ship time is the same as island time.

Hope that this helps.

San Juan, PR and all the stops you are making are in the Atlantic Time zone, which is 4 hours behind UTC. This means that ship time and island time will always be the same.

Aloha,

John
