fantasy51 Posted April 3, 2014 #51 Share Posted April 3, 2014 Cunardaddict, would you consider it interfering if embassy officials helped tourists to get onto a safe flight out of a troubled country, or if they helped them to safety behind walls in an embassy building? Cats2010 Posted April 3, 2014 #52 Share Posted April 3, 2014 Exactly this arrogance of the British is still the cause for permanent trouble in former British controlled regions like the Sinai. It seems that no transitional measures have been taken at that time as we do it today.
Salacia Posted April 3, 2014 #53 Share Posted April 3, 2014 It is difficult to understand how someone who takes every possible opportunity to make nasty, provocative comments about the UK and the USA could possibly be addicted to the Cunard Line. cunardaddict Posted April 3, 2014 #54 Share Posted April 3, 2014 Picked the wrong term ;) I thought of helping, not interfering. OK, a different view now. As far as I know from embassy staff EU and Swiss embassies are prepared to help all EU citizens and also Swiss citizens everywhere in the world. If evacuations are needed, EU countries have standard procedures of cooperation.

Cats2010 Posted April 4, 2014 #56 Share Posted April 4, 2014 OK, a different view now. If evacuations are needed, EU countries have standard procedures of cooperation. That's right. So no need anymore for the UK offcials to travel down to Egypt. Another chance for the UK 'to get their money back' :D.
