Cruzer2014 Posted March 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2014 Okay so i have a question. My father in law plays a lot at the casinos. He tells me the hotel/casino called and he got a free cruise from the elderado hotel in Shreveport, LA. How is this possible. He said this is his 4th free cruise along with his friend. They always seem to say. Guess what won a free cruise!!!! I don't get it and i smell a rat.
DarthGrady Posted March 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2014 Anything is possible from the casinos. I've got friends and family that have gotten some very nice comps from being loyal players. If he's the type that spends a bunch in there I'm sure they wouldn't mind comping him a cruise to keep him a happy customer. Or maybe Carnival and that casino are affiliated? Perhaps CCL is comping him the cruise in the hopes of getting a high roller in their casino.
pungo3 Posted March 31, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) I believe he is being truthful. My table mates on a recent cruise were on their 2nd free cruise (from the casino) and had a 3rd booked a couple of months later. They really didn't gamble excessively, but definitely more than me.:( No free cruise, ever, for me. Edited March 31, 2014 by pungo3
Cruzer2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted March 31, 2014 Ok well he does gamble. But he acts like it's FREE. He doesn't realize he spent 10,000 for it in the casino. Thanks for feedback
catngat Posted March 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2014 I just read an that Carnival is partnering with a group of casinos and cruise comps are to be given. I'll try to hunt it down.
cjankowski Posted March 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 31, 2014 My husband has gotten a few times a promo for free cruise. We have not done them, but we are looking at doing one. His states free inside room and you can upgrade for addition fee's (person & guest). When I called and spoke to someone it was listed in his profile and they it was available & he would need to pay the taxes and room was free!! 5 day cruise for only $100 = works for me :)
sjcruiser Posted March 31, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 31, 2014 My cruise on the Breeze last summer was full of Ocean Player Club members (those who spend time and $$$ in casinos). The last two nights of the cruise, you couldn't get to a table, and they were spending and playing plenty of dough to earn another free cruise, so I would doubt him. I play in the casinos here in NJ, but I'm not a top tier player, but I get plenty of comps to keep my going back, and last year I received several offers from casinos around the country for free stay, play, and meals, all I had to do was get there.
