cigarette smoking in public areas will be permitted only in Carnival’s dance clubs, designated areas within the casino and casino bar, certain sections on the open decks on all vessels and also in the jazz clubs on 13 Carnival ships. The 13 ships include Carnival Destiny, Carnival Triumph, Carnival Victory, Carnival Spirit, Carnival Pride, Carnival Legend, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Glory, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Freedom, and Carnival Splendor. Cigar smoking will also be permitted in the jazz clubs. On other vessels in the fleet, cigar (and cigarette) smoking will also be permitted in designated areas on deck.

Those guests in balcony accommodations will be permitted to smoke cigarettes and cigars outside on the balcony. Note: Spa balconies are none smoking.

Oh no! I think I'm gonna keep this little piece of information to myself or he might back out of going. It's a real shame that they won't provide a place indoors for cigar smoking on the Elation. Ridiculous!

You're going on a Caribbean cruise and worried about where to smoke cigars INSIDE??? I'm a cigar smoker, too and I enjoy my cigars on my balcony OUTSIDE! :D

Non-smokers like myself often find cigar smoke to be too pervasive. While we've never smoked ourselves, we frequent the casino, where the smoke creates a haze.

We are ok (enough) with cigarette smoke, but just one cigar nearby can turn my stomach. I can't discern the difference between a cheap and an expensive cigar, so that's not my excuse. :-)

Perhaps enough other passengers and crew feel the same -- just one cigar can turn off a whole bunch of people who otherwise can tolerate the cigarette smoke.

Of course, there are loads of people on this board and elsewhere that can't tolerate even cigarette smoke, but that's not the point here.

Perhaps you should consider sailing Celebrity. The casino's on Celebrity are non-smoking areas!
