microbrew Posted April 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Hey all, Just got back from my cruise. I enjoyed it very much! Anyway, right before disembarking, I had a printout of the list of charges I accumulated during my trip. That number matched what I was expecting. However, I just looked at my credit card transaction today and it was approx $20 more than what was indicated on the invoice. Do you guys know if they charge the service charge on the day of disembarking the ship? Just wondering... Thanks!
Sika Dellick Posted April 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2014 The $12 a day DSF is for however many days you cruised. Look over your copy of the statement and see how many times the $12 shows up. I personally do not know of anything that would have changed the amount due but I think you can email socialmedia at ncl dot com and provide them with the relevant info to get an answer as to what it is about. reney313 Posted April 1, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2014 The service charges would have been included in your final statement. My guess is it would be a charge from the mini bar (sodas, etc) or anything that came in the morning of debarking. I assume you would know if you purchased anything that morning, so I'll go with the mini bar as a potential suspect.

Tiggertastic Posted April 1, 2014 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Ring ncl and query it of a revised printout to check it
johnql Posted April 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 1, 2014 It could also be temporary charge (usually marked as pending) that will eventually drop off your actual cc bill.
DevCruise Posted April 1, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 1, 2014 Did you buy any photos on the last morning? Or coffee from the coffee bar? The printed invoice wouldn't include anything you bought after they printed it and a lot of people get stuff on the last morning.
morrisretired Posted April 2, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 2, 2014 They usually clean the mini fridge out or lock it up, when the cabin person cleans your room the final time, while you eat dinner the last night. No way to get a free drink from it in the morning before disembarking. I lost a couple cans of Dr. Pepper, bought in port on an Alaskan cruise, a few years back. SissasMomE Posted April 2, 2014 #9 Share Posted April 2, 2014 Despite the threats, they don't charge you for towels. I can't imagine how many towels are returned and the staff forget to mark it as being returned.
