NCL Stateroom 9708

My husband and I will be traveling with my disabled mom on the NCL Star in December. We have been assigned an accessible stateroom, 9708 but had to sign a waiver saying we know there isn't room for 3 people in the room. We both want to care for my mom and are looking forward to sharing a room with her, but wonder why NCL insisted we sign a waiver when they originally wanted us to share a regular stateroom. Mom had a stroke and is unable to walk, thus uses a power scooter. Has anyone stayed in this stateroom? Will it work for the three of us.

Have not gone on NCL for many years, but I suspect they require you to sign as with an additional bed in the room (a roll-away, I assume) there may be little room for the scooter to manuever or even get to the bed. I would ask them for more information. Some ships do have cabins designed for 3 in their accessible cabins, but they are hard to find. We have found them on some Princess ships, some RCL ships, and a few HAL ships, as well as Celebrity.
