Pattycake28 Posted April 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2014 Has anyone ever done the shark encounter at Coral World? Was it fun or a waste of money? We really like sharks in my family and I thought it would be something different. Also do most adults enjoy Coral World or us it geared more towards kids? CoralReef Posted April 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2014 Don't know about the shark encounter, but our group of 4 adults enjoyed Coral World very much, on two different visits. Check the schedule when you arrive and hit as many of the events as you can. We especially enjoyed the trained sea lion show, the beautiful lorikeets (kinda random as they are native to Australia, but pretty), feeding the stingrays, and the underwater observatory. Ms411 Posted April 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2014 I did the shark encounter a few years ago. It's a great activity for photos of you swimming with the sharks. Nurse and lemon sharks are in the pool, so it's not like you're in a tank with great whites. I heard that Coral World is going to start selling photos like the cruise ships do, so not sure if they're going to restrict cameras for the premium activities. It was interesting to me, but I'm not sure it was worth it because the Shark Talk which is included with park admission, gives a lot of good info for this price of admission.
