moving kids down a group on NCL

I have five children and we are going on the Norwegian Pearl to Alaska in May. The two year old will hang out with me and all the rest of the group will go to their respective groups; However, one of my children has some special needs and is developmentally/socially at a younger age. She is 10 but relates best with 6-7 year olds (she is also tiny so looks about 8 at the most). Has anyone had experience moving a child down a group? She would do marvellously in the 6-9 group.

I've never had a problem moving my special needs child down a group. I usually try to contact the special needs department ahead of time just to let them know and they'll give a heads up to the kids club, but even when I haven't done it ahead of time, I go the first night and talk to the staff. They have experience with lots of different special needs and have always been great.
